Recently Louise and I were commissioned by the Greater Missouri
Leadership of Women to prepare the Woman of the Year Award.
It was presented to Senator Claire Mc Caskill.
I made the box with vintage pine from a 115 year old red barn in
Cooper County. It had an engraved pewter medallion on it with a sketch of
the original structure.
Louise painted it with an iconic pastoral scene, replete with the
Missouri Dogwood and Hawthorn trees, the Missouri Mule, Missouri Fox
Trotter horse and the Blue bird, using old fashioned milk paint.
It was well received by the Senator and the Foundation Leaders,
presenting it.
